The Gathering of Eagles, 501c3 embodies Melvin "Mel" Pender Jr.'s dedication to honoring the sacrifices and achievements of Olympians while nurturing future generations. Central to this mission is The Gathering of Legends Gala, an inspiring event that celebrates the legacy of Olympians from 1964, 1968, and 1972 while investing in the dreams of emerging athletes. Pender's vision for the gala is to create a space where the remarkable stories of past Olympians are celebrated and future legends are inspired to pursue their goals. Through this initiative, The Gathering of Eagles aims to bridge generations, fostering unity, recognition, and support for those who embody the Olympic spirit.
